Investigation Blog post

I will admit that this week I saved the majority of my work on digital modeling for the weekend that we did not do on class time, this is because I had a good bit of other work to do over the week probably due to thanksgiving break coming so soon and I messed up because I ran into a problem and I was not able to get much work done.

first off I continued to create some of the final assets I needed for my temple which included the coffin that the sacrifice would be carried in, it took me a little while to finish the design on the top side of this but I eventually got it to look how I had envisioned.

Next, I worked on some changes to the temple and all of my other assets to make sure they were scaled properly. I added the statue to the scene in a spot that I determined would be perfect for the destruction of the temple that I would animate later. Additionally, I needed something to hold the torch in place, my mom actually came up with the idea that I design torch holders to look like hands holding the torches and I thought it looked really cool so I designed those as well. Finally, I thought it would be a good idea to add a cauldron to highlight the fact that oil was going to be filling the pit.

As you can see I ran into a serious problem which I can not explain. for some reason when I add the normal or roughness from either of my textures to either the temple or my coffin everything went very funky. While I was in rendered view with either applied when I moved my view it would create an afterimage of where the item was that would stay there. It tried to fix this in many ways but all of them concluded in failure.

After spending a long time trying to fix the problem I decided it would be best if I just waited until Tuesday especially since I do not mind getting work done over break.
