Investigation Blog Post

This week I focused on making My low poly model ready to actually be put into the scene by adding some sort of clothing and textures to those

For his mask i just used basic hard surface modeling techniques. First I drew out the outline of what I wanted the mask to look like in vertices and connected them keeping in mind that I might want to change the elevation of individual parts.

When I was finished with that I began to fill in all of the individual faces and extrude them to make a solid mask. I went back on these steps once or twice to tweak my edges and changed the elevation of some faces to give it depth. I think it is a good simple mask for my characters to wear.

I wanted to put something on the bottom part of the characters and I decided that a leaf skirt type thing would be perfect. I attempted to draw out a leaf with vertices and see what I could do with it.

I filled it in and applied a mirror modifier that I think made a fine looking leaf. I then duplicated it sized it up and made it into a good looking leaf skirt although I do not know how I will make it move with the legs.

And so finally I applied textures to my objects. for the body I just made it a solid color because I feel like adding an actual skin texture is hard and  unnecessary. For the mask I applied a full wood texture in a similar way to that of my torches and other objects. and for my leafs I applied an image texture and messed with the uv maps as well as roughness and specular intensity until it looked good.

weekly work log:

monday:modeling mask

Tuesday:modeling mask/ leafs

Wednesday:modeling leafs

thursday:

Friday:textures.
