This week I focused on making My low poly model ready to actually be put into the scene by adding some sort of clothing and textures to those For his mask i just used basic hard surface modeling techniques. First I drew out the outline of what I wanted the mask to look like in vertices and connected them keeping in mind that I might want to change the elevation of individual parts. When I was finished with that I began to fill in all of the individual faces and extrude them to make a solid mask. I went back on these steps once or twice to tweak my edges and changed the elevation of some faces to give it depth. I think it is a good simple mask for my characters to wear. I wanted to put something on the bottom part of the characters and I decided that a leaf skirt type thing would be perfect. I attempted to draw out a leaf with vertices and see what I could do with it. I filled it in and applied a mirror modifier that I think made a fine looking leaf. I then duplicated it sized it u...

This week I was not all that productive because I just could not decide exactly how to continue but now I know roughly what I want to have done this marking period and how I am going to go about doing it although I am still not sure how much I will have done.  So i decided that making and rigging a model was far from worth the time it would take to do it especially because I already know how so I decided to download one from blend-swap that was pretty much the best basic male model I could find I edited the model and made it slightly better in quality by subdividing it and made it slightly skinnier like I would want my characters to be in the story in sculpt mode and hoped it would not cause any problems. satisfied with how my model looked I thought I would give Mixamo a try once again to save time and because I think it is awesome that it works so well and is free. And it worked really well my character is fully rigged and ready now with as far as I can tell no problems. At first ...

Caleb Underkoffler Caleb was the only other person who I got to see present a digital modeling presentation and I was glad to see someone else's work and sort of judge where I am at. Sadly I never got to do the character design in my digital modeling 1 class so the majority of the process that Caleb went through for this marking period I can not comment on, but it is very good to see that he has used reference images and made a sketch of his character before working on this because I imagine without that sort of planning it would have been very difficult to complete. I cannot wait to see his character in full costume and hopefully animated, I think it is a very cool concept and I would love to see it in action as I am sure Caleb would as well. Also, I do remember rigging models and how long it took so I think Mr. Bomboy's suggestion of using the website (I forget the name) was very good and for the rest of my project, I may also do it.  Zachary Willard Zach's film had s...
