Progressive and Interlaced Scan Slow Motion and framerate

Image
Progressive vs interlaced scan? Progressive scans fill in each line of the frame every frame giving a full image that fills the screen. Interlaced scans fill in every other line per frame and alternate. why does it matter? Interlaced scans save a considerable amount of bandwidth making them more popular when technology was not as advanced. however interlaced signals can appear combing when the lines do not match this happens often with fast moving events. why should we know the difference? Most people are content with 1080 i and this saves bandwidth so many cable companies will stream from this however on computers it is possible to stream in 1080 p always and avoid interlaced combing. Most projects today can be done with progressive scanning but it is still good to know the difference. Framerate and slow motion video.

The Camera - Focal Length and Frame Rate

Image
FOCAL LENGTH What is focal length The focal length is the length of the lens is the difference between the lens and the focal point, this is usually controlled by the length of the lens. large mm telephoto lens 25 mm lens What is the difference between a low mm lens and a high mm lens a short low mm lens will give you a short wide-angle, a large mm lens will give you a more narrow field of view Series of images I took on different mm focal lengths When do you use lower/higher focal lens Because lower mm focal Lenses give you a wide angle they are very landscape photography where you would want to capture a large portion of land from a distance. the higher focal lenses are generally better for catching very detailed images of a subject and can be useful in things like wildlife photography where the subject is often far away. Wide angle lens shot telephoto lens shot FRAME RATE What is fps framerate is dictated by how many pictures your camera takes per second or the FPS. so at a nu...

The Camera- White Balance

Image
What is White Balance? White Balance is the camera's way to adjust to different temperatures of light so an image will appear as you see it with your eyes which automatically adjusts. It does this by adding a specific amount of the opposite color to make it reach the equilibrium of white light. How is color temperature measured? Color temperature despite being completely reliant on color is measured through Kelvin which is a unit of heat. The higher the Kelvin the closer the light is too bright orange and the lower kelvin is closer to dark blue. Why should a photographer know how to change the white balance in their camera? It is important for a photographer to know how to change their white balance because with all of the factors that affect the natural temperature of light it may be necessary to change the white balance if you want the image to appear crisp and accurate. It is also possible to take creative liberty and use white balance to alter an image by tinting the temperat...
