The presentations that I chose to reflect on were Aiden Rimmer Zachary Willard and Caleb Underkoffler. Caleb Underkoffler: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M9jDqcadT4kwYTAbNvEwpwVPf8B10Q3PTdeAe7412sI/edit?usp=sharing  First of all, I thought it was very cool to see that Caleb was working on something for a game that he clearly felt passionate about, I am sure this drove him to make something without flaws and is understandably why he spent so much time and effort perfecting the concept. I think it is cool that he got input from his friends with similar interests on his concept and seriously took that into consideration, which is something I might do more of in the future.  It was overall good to see that he organized and valued his planning and I cannot wait to see what this character looks like when he is finished modeling it.   Intention Definition and Exploration of Ideas: We spent the first few weeks exploring several different concepts for art and although I was torn between art in nature and the spiritual realm. I eventually decided to create something highlighting the spiritual realm because to me it was the most interesting and I thought I could explore more of a variety of the things you can do in a blender with this theme. The topic I decided to focus on was corruption and how the overwhelming power of religion over years could lead people to do horrible things such as sacrifice. I chose this once again just because it was the most interesting part of the sacred realm for me and I knew I would enjoy creating something about it. However, all of that said. although I do want to make something meaningful, I am more concerned with improving my modeling and animation skills and exploring new parts of Blender. Planning:  My planning mostly consisted of sketching my temple before actually creating...

This week I worked on more things that are necessary for my final animation and prepped my statue model for 3d printing.  I started by creating lightning because I remembered it would be important for my finale animation and I did not create it while experimenting with fire and destruction like I had planned. I followed this tutorial  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dblHLxyE7BU In the creation of the bolt shape I was required to use a lot of modifiers like I never had before I thought it was interesting that the order modifiers are listed in changes how they effect the mesh and the copying 3 displacement modifiers changed the effect that the displacement had but I was very happy with how it turned out.   the next thing that I attempted was moving my fire simulation which was in a different file to the file with my scene. I thought I could export this as a .dae but that just gave me a model. I tried looking it up and it said to export alembic but when I did that it o...

This week I wanted to make my scene look more complete so I added   the first thing I did was adding and texturing the wood to my fire-pit  This was basically the same process I usually go through for texturing things but this time I had to create my own sort of texture for the chopped end of the wood and I think I did a good job, I tried to find and eventually create a burnt look at well but I was unsuccessful and just stuck with normal bark I next created and textured the ground for my scene I followed the beginning of the tutorial  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlNF4X2Koqw&t=267s  for this part. I like how it looks and I do not think the edges of the ground will be noticeable. I attempted to follow a tutorial and texture paint the ground to look less uniform and I followed a tutorial on texture mapping. from what I was able to see this would have looked really good but it caused blender to freeze when I actually attempted to do it on the scale tha...

This week I worked mainly on texturing the objects in my scene and adding a night sky, my idea is to get the scene completed including fire and maybe even submit the final scene of the temple being destroyed if I can finish it by the time we share our work. the first thing I did was just a little change to my statue because I thought it was hard to tell that its bottom half was supposed to be a robe of some kind and before it looked unfinished so I tryed to make it more like I had intended and I think it looks better now. Working with the brick texture for my temple was probably the hardest part of this whole thing although compared to things I have done in previous weeks it was not bad. I just had to apply the texture to some of the faces as separated objects to make their UV maps different sizes, it still looks a little weird at some spots but I think I have kept it so in the actual scene it will be hard to notice. I next worked on the stairs and everything that would be involve...

I will admit that this week I saved the majority of my work on digital modeling for the weekend that we did not do on class time, this is because I had a good bit of other work to do over the week probably due to thanksgiving break coming so soon and I messed up because I ran into a problem and I was not able to get much work done.  first off I continued to create some of the final assets I needed for my temple which included the coffin that the sacrifice would be carried in, it took me a little while to finish the design on the top side of this but I eventually got it to look how I had envisioned. Next, I worked on some changes to the temple and all of my other assets to make sure they were scaled properly. I added the statue to the scene in a spot that I determined would be perfect for the destruction of the temple that I would animate later. Additionally, I needed something to hold the torch in place, my mom actually came up with the idea that I design torch holders to loo...

This week I worked on creating my temple that I had sketched last week I started by modifying a cube to be the top and extending a face to act as the front of my temple this was somewhat complicated because I needed to keep in mind the stairs and the unique shape I had planned. Next was very simple, I created the stairs with modified cubes precisely placed placed above each other. It was surprisingly hard for me to incorporate them into the temple I had already made I probably should have done the stairs first but I went with what I already had made  I revisited my torch design from the first weeks and made it much more simple so it would work in large numbers in my temple. I finished the body of my temple by extending and curving one side of the face that I had and duplicating that then symmetrizing the sides so both sides were the same and I thought it looked pretty nice. I next planned to create the fire pit's that I had drawn in the picture and it was very simple but I th...
